Marketing For Creatives And WordPress.com Seminars In Dorset

Over the coming three weeks, I’ll be running three evening seminars at the Dorset Centre for the Creative Arts, based in Poundbury. Each of the seminars is designed to give small creative business owners and writers a better understanding about how they can use the power of the web to promote themselves and their work.

Creative Marketing seminar – £15
Wed – 11/01/2017 – 6:30pm – 8:30pm

Are you a professional artist, writer or crafts person struggling with the sales side of your business? Are you an amateur who would like to make some extra income? If so, this 2 hour seminar might help you get started. Linda will take you on a tour of the online options for selling your work, explaining the pros and cons of different approaches along the way. WordPress 1 – Getting Started – £15
Tues – 17/01/2017 – 6:30pm – 8:30pm

WordPress is software for websites that powers well over 20% of the web. Sites such as the BBC and CNN use it and many small and growing companies do to. But, installing and running it yourself requires technical know-how and time, so why not make use of the free and low-cost options available directly from the owners? There’s no need for you to update it, or maintain it; you can simply focus on what you want to say. Come along to this session that will get you started with a brand new website quickly and easily. WordPress 2 – Writing for the Web  – £15
Tues – 24/01/2017 – 6:30pm – 8:30pm

Following on from the introduction to WordPress.com we’ll be taking a look at writing effectively for a small business website. What do you need to focus on? How do you decide what people want to read? And how can you make Google pay attention to your brand new business? All these answers and more will be covered in this starter session. This is a practical, hands on session and will require you to bring along login details for your website.
