Samantha has been interested in poetry and short story writing since she was seven and her grandad first inspired me to start writing fiction. Whilst studying BA Creative Writing at university she also became interested in writing television drama and went on to study for a Masters degree in Screenwriting.
What is one thing that no-one would usually know about you?
Odd socks scare me.
Do you have any hints or tips for aspiring writers?
Follow your passion – write about what you believe in and let your imagination guide you.
What was the most important thing you learned at school?
As long as we have stories, we will never be alone. The characters I met in the books I read at school will always remain with me, from the Malory Towers girls to The Lord of the Flies lost boys.
Tea, Coffee, Water, Juice, Wine or Beer … which do you prefer when writing?
Tea, tea and more tea! I could not write without regular tea breaks and I have a vast selection of teas to choose from, depending on my mood!
What has been the best experience you have ever had in your life?
The best experience of my life was getting married on the spare of the moment in LA after travelling across Las Vegas and San Francisco. With just our niece as a witness, it was the perfect day, complete with champagne and cutting of the donut.
