Sade Norwood

What is one thing that no-one would usually know about you?

One thing that most people don’t know about me is that I collected rocks as a child. From the age of 8-12 I had obtained a wide variety of “pretty” rocks. I had Amethyst,  Quartz, Tourmaline,  Chalcopyrite, and many others .

What did the best review you ever had say about you and your work?

The best review that I have ever received was during my senior year in college.  A visiting professor from the University of California, told me that my writing immediately drew her in and she had this dyer craving to read more of my work. She said that I have a great understanding of the reader and that knowledge alone will allow me to be a successful writer.

What has been the best experience you have ever had in your life?

The best experience that I have ever had in my life to date would be meeting my biological family for the first time. I was adopted at the age of five and had little contact with my biological family. The summer of 2014, I traveled to London to meet my great-grand mother who was celebrating her 100th birthday. When we met, she immediately knew who I was and was so open and loving. I stayed in London for two weeks and met my cousins, aunts, and uncles and it was amazing! My cousins and I impersonated each-others accents and exchanged jokes back and forth about London and New York.  In my writings, I tend to create characters who struggle with self-identification, and my trip to London helped me to find myself, and thus enhance my character development skills.

What is the book that you wished you had written?

The Bluest Eye- Toni Morrison. This book has such an unorthodox style and it caught my attention immediately.

If you could commit the perfect murder where would you hide the body?

If I could commit the perfect murder I would not hide the body. The only way to commit the perfect murder is to destroy all the evidence and the most efficient way would be by fire. I would have to burn the body.
