Mmmm, now that’s a challenging title even for me but it comes on the back of several interesting conversations I’ve had with various people over the last days and it helped me to understand a little more about myself too.  What I understood was that to be able to move on in life, you have to apply a little self discipline and yet that’s one of the hardest things to do – there is always so much to overcome in the process, procrastination initially and then inertia as well.

At the beginning of the year I set myself a goal, that I would write an entry in a journal every day to chart my progress through the year. At the end of each entryI wanted to record reasons to be grateful for the day as well.  Needless to say I have yet to complete the goal, because although I’m writing in my journal reguarly, I’m not doing it every day which means I don’t have a complete set of days to look back on.  The reason for the lapse is that I lacked the self discipline to do it.  But that doesn’t mean that I can’t find the self discipline now to get restarted on the task in hand, because the value I can gain in terms of insight by completing will be enormous.

That of course, is just one little example and there are many more that I (and you) can point to every day where, for the want of a little self discipline life could be better, easier, happier or more adventurous.  Can I challenge you to find yours today because you never know quite where it might end up.
