I don’t know whether I’ve actually said anything about Mowgli yet. If I have and you already know, then I apologise if I’m repeating myself, if not then here’s the update. Mowgli is actually The Mowgli Foundation, a charity founded by a guy called Tony Bury last year, with the express aim of alleviating poverty in the Middle East. The way Tony envisages achieving this lofty ambition though is an interesting one, it’s through mentoring entrepreneurs based in the Middle East, so that they can create jobs and improve local economies.
How’s he doing so far? Well to date there are around 40 international mentors volunteering and about the same number of entrepreneurs too. We don’t yet know if it’s having the desired impact because it has yet to be measured – after all the first groups only went through the whole process just over 12 months ago, and this sort of impact takes time to assess.
Why am I talking about it? That’s a very good question and the reason I’m chatting about here on my own blog is because I amd their blogger and all round social media person, that is of course in addition to my other jobs too – you know writer, thinker, dancer etc……
Oh, and I blog on the site very day of the working week – that’s five blog posts per week, every week of the year, so I do hope you’ll forgive me for not being quite so prolific here as perhaps I ought to be.
So where can I find them? They are all over the social web and I put together a little presentation to show what we do and where we are – the video is at the end of this blog post and the links to the various sites are coming up next. Have fun!
Oh, and the web address, just in case you missed it is http://blog.mowgli.org.uk ….!
